Who handles your data

AscendCELPIP is run by an individual, not a company. Data questions are handled directly at yurchenkowork7@gmail.com.

We are responsible for what happens to your data inside the service, including passing it to the processors listed below.

What we collect

Account details: your email address and your password. The password is stored only as an irreversible hash — it cannot be recovered from the database, which is why a lost password is reset rather than sent to you.

Settings: interface language, chosen preparation track, onboarding answers, daily workload, and other study preferences.

Study data: your answers, scores, time spent, session history, and the focus map built from them. Without these the service cannot decide what to give you next, which is its core function.

Writing and speaking submissions: the texts you write and the audio recordings of your spoken answers.

Product analytics: which screens you open and which actions you take. Before sign-up these events are tied to an anonymous session identifier; afterwards, to your account.

Billing data: subscription status, payment identifiers, and your AI-credit balance. Card numbers and payment details are handled by Stripe — they never reach our servers and are not available to us.

Technical data: IP address and browser details in server logs, used for diagnostics and for protecting accounts against password guessing.

Why we do it

To deliver what you created the account for: build your focus map, choose the next lesson, score your writing and speaking, and keep progress in sync across devices.

To take payment and keep track of your subscription and AI credits.

To find and fix defects, understand where people get stuck, and protect accounts from password guessing.

To send the emails the service cannot work without: email confirmation, sign-in links, password resets, and subscription notices. We do not run marketing mailings.

We do not sell your data, do not pass it to advertising networks, and do not profile you outside the study features.

Who else processes your data

Stripe — payments and subscriptions. It receives payment details directly from you, bypassing our servers.

AI scoring providers — receive the text of your written submission or a transcript of your spoken answer in order to score it and produce feedback. Only the submission is sent: your name, email, and other account details are not.

Email delivery provider — receives the recipient address and the text of the service email.

Hosting and file storage — the service runs on their infrastructure and your audio recordings are stored there.

Submissions sent for automated scoring are not used to train third-party models.

Where data is stored and cross-border transfer

Our servers and storage are in Europe, while some processors — Stripe and the AI providers — operate in the United States and other countries. This means your data crosses borders and, in a processor's country, may fall within the reach of local authorities.

We choose processors that offer contractual protection, but no internet service can rule such access out entirely. If that is unacceptable to you, do not create an account.

How long we keep it

Account and study data live as long as your account does. Delete the account and they go with it, including speaking recordings.

Audio recordings of spoken answers are deleted automatically 12 months after recording, even on an active account: their value for your learning is exhausted by then.

Payment records are kept as long as accounting and tax rules require, separately from study data. Deleting your account does not erase them.

Server logs containing IP addresses are kept for 90 days.

Your rights

You can obtain a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, delete your account together with its data, and withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent means the service stops working for you — it does not function without study data.

Write to yurchenkowork7@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days. Identity is confirmed by writing from the email address the account is registered to.

If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the data protection authority in your country. In Canada that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

The service is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect children's data. If you are a parent and believe your child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

Connections are encrypted, passwords are stored as hashes, and database access is restricted. Audio recordings are served through temporary links that expire after one hour rather than permanent addresses.

No protection is absolute. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you by email.

Browser storage

We use no advertising or tracking cookies. In your browser's local storage the service keeps only what it cannot work without: your session token and your chosen interface language.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will email you and show a notice in the app before the change takes effect. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
